Day 1

Kochi – Munnar                 

Arrival at Cochin airport/ railway station, meet and assistance.Drive to Munnar. Enroute visit Vallara waterfalls and Cheeyapara falls. Arrive Munnar and check in to hotel. Evening free for leisure. Overnight stay at Munnar

Day 2

Munnar

Breakfast at Hotel; Morning breakfast at Hotel. After breakfast proceed to Eravikulam National park. It is the home and sanctuary of the Nilgiri Tahr. The park also boasts of hosting South India’s highest peak, Anamudi (2695 m), in its southern area. Enjoy half day in national park and return to hotel by afternoon. Later visit Tea museum and factory. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 3

Munnar – Thekkady

Morning after breakfast drive to Thekkady.Thekkady in India’s largest wildlife sanctuary is a dream destination for any tourist visiting India. The 120 years old ‘Surki’ dam built across Peryiar, Poorna in Vedic parlance, is a major tourist attraction. This sanctuary is spread over an area of 777 Sq. Kms, surrounded by an artificial lake over an area of 25 Sq.Kms. The Country’s sole Tiger reserve, Thekkady, with its bountiful treasures of tropical flora and fauna is the ultimate reservoir of many an endangered species and a rich tribal culture. Thekkady is a pleasant heaven on earth for those who love nature in its wild manifestations.

 

On arrival check in to hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure. Overnight stay at Thekkady.

Day 4

Thekkady

After an early breakfast, go on viewing cruise on the Periyar Lake. Here you will be able to see a large variety of wildlife, which include elephants, monkeys, deer, wild boar etc, and quite a lot of unique birds can also be spotted. Optional activities like Boating at Periyar Lake, Spice Plantation visit, Bamboo Rafting, Trekking and Elephant Ride can be done at an extra cost.. Overnight stay at Thekkady.

Day 5

Alleppey

Breakfast at Hotel; Check out and leave for Alleppey. Approximately a distance of 170 Kms and takes approximately 5 Hours by road. Embark houseboat in backwaters of Kerala. Alleppey is a charming emerald peninsula jutting into the picturesque Vembanad Lake dotted with innumerable traditional country rafts, boats and canoes. The fresh water of the lake flows into the mainland, making a labyrinth of lagoons, canals and waterways. Spend the rest of the day cruising through beautiful backwaters. A cruise in a Houseboat is one of the best ways to enjoy the beauty of Alleppey Backwaters. The Kerala Backwaters are a network of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes, and inlets, a labyrinthine system formed by more than 900 km of waterways. Overnight stay at Alleppey Houseboat..

Day 6

Cochin

Morning breakfast at Houseboat ; Disembark from houseboat and drive to Cochin for city tour. Today influenced by medieval Portugal, Holland and England. You will visit St. Francis Church, built in 1503 by Portuguese Franciscan friars where Vasco da Gama has buried for 14 years before his remains were transferred to Lisbon. His tombstone still stands. Nearby is the Mattancherry Palace or “Dutch Palace”. The central hall on the Ist floor was the coronation hall of the rajas of Cochin. Other rooms depict scenes from the Ramayana and Puranic legends connected with Hindu gods. Amazing are the Chinese fishing nets. These cantilevered fishing nets line the entrance to the harbour mouth. They were introduced by traders from the courts of Kublai Khan. You also see the Jew City with the Jewish Synagogue, constructed in 1568, with hand-painted, willow- pattern floor tiles brought from Canton in the mid-18th century by a Rabbi, who had trading interest in that city. (Jewish Synagogue closed on Friday, Saturdays).

Day 7

Departure

Morning, after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Cochin  airport for your flight back home, feeling contented about a wonderful holiday you spent in the “God’s Own Country”.
